A very well written and researched article. Unfortunately I believe the criminal cartel we have running Australia do not give a shit about how much financial pain they are inflicting on brewery’s pubs, clubs and the public in general with there insane levy on alcohol products. I believe no amount of partition signing or protests will change this. When people have finally had enough of being screwed over from every direction and say .. no more .. get out .. then and only then things will change for the better.
I know it sounds cynical but I believe this to be the truth.
I feel your pain and share your frustration both as a parent and a drinker. We can vote out Red but if Blue gets in they will do the same as they are both addicted to big Government and their hands in all our pockets. Personally, I do believe a march every 6 months to our local pubs, clubs, breweries and distilleries will get them to sit up and take notice. They only care about one thing and one thing only - votes! If we show them enough is enough they will be forced to listen to us. We are talking about 21m people who are all voters. Once we knock them back in one area of encroachment on our basic freedoms we are more inclined to have wins in other areas. Otherwise they are simply feeding criminal syndicates who peddle illicit stimulants which will only grow stronger and more beligerant over time. If we want to live in a third world narco state keep going the direction they are taking us. If we don't want that outcome we have to stand up and take action and be noticed by our elected representatives.
Here we go again, more pain. I know a local vineyard, winery owner and he told me the statistics of Craft breweries plus gin makers going bust last October .. aprox 1 of each per month.
Like I aid I am very cynical and IU stand by my comments. IMO The current treasurer is so arrogant and out of touch with reality he just could not give a shit how much pain people are in, not that it matters because you will get more of the same from the opposition
Unless the illegal government and political parties of Australia are removed from Office craft breweries going bust will be the least of our problems.
Thanks Mark - I will check out the Rumble post - "tanks" for sharing. It is more like 1 craft brewery and/or distillery going under per week! I think we lost 25+ Craft Brewers last year to VAs and closures and liquidations and probably over 50% are for sale if your interested in buying one. I hear you about a deaf Treasurer who by the way is now a self confessed tea totaller - apparantly he had wandering hands and got mouthy after a few too many freebies at Parliamentry drinks in a former life! His ambition is to be PM so he will do very little to ruffle any feathers. Likewise the Liberals are in the Coalition of the Unwilling to make changes that are positive for the people. Let's see how voters vote this coming Federal Election - my no.1 prediction more swings away from the Red/Blue coalition - big two parties and more votes to minor parties and Independents. Australians are not foolish and Politicians are foolish to think they can pull the wool over their eyes on this issue and many more! Tanks again for your always valued comments. cheers
